Blood, sweat and tears

Thailand is famously known for two things: exotic sceneries and Muay Thai. Experiencing spectacular landscapes is the easy part but for a more authentic Thai experience you need to get your spar on. That is what Louis from our team decided to experience when he arrived in Bangkok a month ago.

Developed in the 18th century and celebrated as a national sport, Muay Thai is recognised for its tremendous power, brutal  efficiency and raw simplicity. Today, it is debated as one of the most efficient martial arts in the world and counts millions of fans from around the planet.

Located in Sathorn, the ‘Legend Thai Boxing’ club gives you the opportunity to go beyond your physical abilities and mental limits, while practising this fascinating sport. Across one and a half hours, dedicated instructors will guide you through intense training, all done in the punishing heat of a minimum of 35 degrees Celsius. Whether you want to develop self-confidence, get incredibly fit, or compete in the ring, ‘Legend Thai Boxing’ will lead you towards your goals. However, please be aware, even though you might have a good physical condition, the 30 first minutes will give you the feeling of being in hell. Fast pace cardio exercises combined with the heat will tear your muscles appart, make you sweat liters of water and will probably make you want to quite.

Therefor, while burning over 1,000 calories an hour, be prepared to toughen your mind, body and spirit whilst immersing yourself in Thai heritage. There are few other cultural experiences that will have you so  What else in order to experience a culture in the most powerful way possible? Did Louis regret it? Not at all.
